30 Hour Famine 2003

Thank you for your support!

	This is the crew that participated in the 2003 30 Hour Famine.

Unfortunately Jessica, who organized and coordinated the event was ill so while she still fasted, she was unable to attend.

On Saturday, the teens were involved in service projects. One of these projects was a prayer walk and food drive. The Sunday before the famine, the teens canvassed the neighborhood surrounding the

church with flyers requesting people to leave food on their porches. On Saturday, they again covered the neighborhood with prayer while they picked up the food donated to help the needy in Vienna.

Other service projects included cleaning the church vans and helping an elderly lady move.

	Once the famine was over, we partook of a bountiful meal and reflected on the awesome blessings of God.

120 second update

Again this year, we are taking the famine experience a little further.

On Friday night, we will be sleeping in boxes in an unheated gymnasium. We will have no conveniences or entertainment. No TV's. No Stereo's. No video games.

Saturday we will be involved in community service. Last Sunday, we distributed flyers to about 300 Vienna residents and one of our activities on Saturday will be visiting those homes to pick up food that those residents leave on their doorsteps. The food will be distributed to needy families in our community.
