| What is the 30 Hour Famine?
The 30
Hour Famine is a World Vision program that allows young people
to make a significant impact on the problem of world hunger. By
pledging to go without food for 30 hours, participants not only
raise money to help alleviate this type of suffering, but also
gain an understanding of how it feels to experience hunger. It
is our hope that this experience, combined with a greater
awareness of the suffering taking place in many parts of the
world, will inspire young people to compassion and a greater
desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

| The
RVCC Teens
elected to go one
step further. In order to gain a better understanding of
people who are less fortunate, the teens didn't go home and
sleep in their beds on Friday night, but slept in
boxes. The original plan was to sleep in boxes in the
church parking lot, but due to below freezing temperatures,
it was decided to turn the heat off in the gym and move the
boxes in there. Saturday was spent
performing service projects for our community. At other
times during the famine, we participated in
intercessory prayer and devotions. |

Our participation in this
year's 30 Hour Famine has ended,
but the need hasn't.
The money that you generously pledged and donated will make a huge difference,
but there is still hunger in the world. |
