| Caravan
is a Christian club for children ages three through the sixth grade. Its
purpose is to promote spiritual, mental, physical, and social
development. With the direction of one or more adult leaders,
called Guides, children study a special age- appropriate
curriculum and participate in a program of advancement based
on earning badges. While Caravan is fun, it isn't "just more
school". |
| The activities are designed to prepare children
with skills and abilities that they will use as
they become teens and then adults. Caravan was started
by the Church of the Nazarene in 1946. While the uniform,
badges, and other aspects of Caravan have changed over the years,
the purpose hasn't changed. Caravan is still designed to
minister to the whole child - socially, physically, mentally,
and spiritually. |
